Tackling local isolation this Christmas

This winter local people and community groups will be tackling isolation in Lambeth.

A small grants scheme has been launched by NHS Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Lambeth Council, as part of a Southwark and Lambeth Integrated Care initiative.

Local people and community groups in the Vassall and Coldharbour areas of Lambeth were invited to come forward with ideas to help reduce isolation and/or promote health and wellbeing for older people during the winter.

These priorities link directly with the Southwark and Lambeth Integrated Care I-Statements developed by the Citizens’ Forum, which represent the health and wellbeing outcomes that matter most to local people.

The application period has now closed, and over 25 individuals and groups applied for the funding with a variety of ideas. There is a total pot of £20,000 available, with grants between £500 and £5,000 being awarded.

The applications are now being judged by a panel made up of Lambeth Council, NHS Lambeth CCG and voluntary and community sector representatives.

The successful applicants will be announced soon, so they have enough time to support local people over Christmas.

The London Community Foundation is managing the application process and will support the chosen projects until the end of February.
